CHRIS KING THREADLESS & THREADED BICYCLE HEADSETS

Beginning November 1, 2008, Chris King sealed bearing headsets will exclusively feature the Sotto Voce mark for all color options. It is the new standard mark for Chris King headsets. The headset on the left is the old etching and on the right the Sotto Voce model.

-Sotto Voce (sot-toh voh-che) is an Italian term used in music to denote a dramatic lowering of the tone. It literally means “under voice” but can be translated as “soft voice”.

This is the one sure part that belongs on all bikes. The sealed cartridge bearings are super hard stainless steel so they always stay round. They are also user-serviceable. Full contact seals keep the muck out and ensure smooth operation.

Grip Nut Threaded: Designed for bicycles with threaded forks used without headset spacers or cable hangers. This unique design features a threaded collet positioned inside the adjusting and lock nuts that firmly clamps the fork threads. The result is a headset system with incredible holding power and ease of adjustability. GripNut is ideal for heavy touring or rough riding conditions. Its design is also a welcome solution for problem forks with damaged or undersized threads and for threaded forks that have been cut too short.

Threaded 2Nut: 2Nut is the preferred headset for anyone using a threaded fork and quill stem in combination with headset spacers and/or a cable hanger. It is a popular headset with cyclocrossers and randonneurs.
